Ok: the trailer is a bust:
My welder recommends reselling it to someone else and getting something else.
I'm off to purchase another one from the trailer store on I-20 sometime tomorrow, or at least order one that will work. I'm not waiting around anymore.
The bummer is that I have to put all the wood back on, that I've spent all that sweat equity to get off. Sigh.
